Description:
Charles’ Mountain images are part of an on-going series in which he photographs the mountains of Glencoe on every passing, no matter what the conditions. With strong family links to the West Highlands Charles has passed through Glencoe many times. As a boy his dad used to encourage him to identify Bauchaille Etive Mor and the name has never left him. As Charles ages with each journey, the mountain remains constant but the seasons and conditions change. A digital camera captures the detail, with additional colour achieved using a replica of Charles’ first ever camera, a point and shoot Halina.
Charles is a technique photographer who explores ideas and methods for producing imagery. This constantly evolving approach allows his personal projects to be innovative and captivating.
Charles photographs have won him critical acclaim, 2001 he has been a finalist in the Sony World Photography Awards as well being featured in creative review’s photography annual.
